Two weeks before the start of the race for the Palme d’Or, the organizers of the Cannes Film Festival announced yesterday the members of the jury for the 77th session, which brings together personalities from the world of cinema, including Lebanese director Nadine Labaki. and French actor Omar Sy.

Sy’s presence on the red carpet is expected to arouse great interest, as he is considered one of the French’s favorite cinema characters and has enjoyed international fame since his success, notably in the series “Lupin” on the Netflix platform.
Sy discusses the best of the 22 films in competition with other members of the jury, including French actress Eva Green (43 years old).
The youngest member of the jury is actress Lily Gladstone (37 years old).
The committee also includes Italian actor Pierfrancesco Favino (54 years old), Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda (61 years old), Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona (48 years old), Turkish screenwriter and photographer Ebru Ceylan (48 years old) and Lebanese director Nadine Labaki (50), whose three films participated in various categories of the festival, including “Capharnaüm”, which won the jury prize in the official competition in 2018. The festival is ready to start following the constitution of the jury and the announcement of the list of 22 films which will compete to win the Palme d’Or, won last year by “Anatomy Don Shot” by Justin Trier.
