Nadal withdraws from third consecutive Masters tournament
The Spanish tennis player, who won 11 times in Monte Carlo, has still not recovered from his injury. Also, the second racket of the world Carlos Alcaraz and the seventh number of the ATP rating Felix Auger-Aliassime will not play in the tournament.

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal withdrew from the Masters series tournament in Monte Carlo due to injury, which will be held from 8 to 16 April. The 36-year-old athlete wrote regarding this on his Twitter.
“I’m not ready to compete at the highest level yet. I will not be able to play in one of the most important tournaments of my career – in Monte Carlo. I continue to prepare and hope to return soon, ”Nadal wrote.
Nadal was injured back in February during a match with American Mackenzie McDonald in the second round of the Australian Open. He was diagnosed with a muscle injury in his leg. Nadal has already missed two Masters tournaments – in American Indian Wells and Miami. Because of this, the Spaniard left the top 10 of the ATP rankings for the first time since 2005.
Nadal is out of the ATP top 10 for the first time in 18 years
Nadal has won the Masters in Monte Carlo 11 times, most recently in 2018.
Nadal won 22 Grand Slams, including 14 at Roland Garros. He is currently ranked 14th in the world rankings.
Also, the second racket of the world, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaras and the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, who ranks seventh in the ATP ranking, announced the withdrawal from the tournament in Monte Carlo.
