Nadal reached the final of the French Open for the 14th time – 06/03/2022

The meeting took place in Paris. The match ended following Zverev refused to continue the fight due to injury with the score 7:6 (10:8), 6:6 in favor of Nadal, seeded under the fifth number in the tournament.

Zverev received the third seed. In the final, Nadal will play the winner of the meeting between Norwegian Kasper Ruud (8th seed) and Croatian Marin Cilic (20).

Due to the fact that Zverev failed to win the tournament, Russian Daniil Medvedev will become the first racket of the world on June 13, as Serb Novak Djokovic will burn out points for last year’s French Open title. Medvedev already led the rating from February 28 to March 21, 2022.

Nadal, who turned 36 on June 3, reached the final of the French Open for a record 14th time. All previous finals ended in victory for the Spaniard. The French Open will end on June 5, it is played on clay and is the second Grand Slam tournament of the season. The total prize fund of the competition is €43.6 million. The current winner of the tournament is Djokovic.
