NAC O17 – Willem II O17: 5-2
This weekend, NAC O17 played the Brabant derby. NAC eventually emerged as the winner on home turf: 5-2!
The match started messily, due to early pressure from Tilburg. Nevertheless, NAC managed to score the early opening goal. After only three minutes of play, Onze Parels had already scored. NAC controlled the match, but still had to swallow the equalizer halfway through the first half. After this, NAC O17 picked up the thread again, but did not manage to take the lead. The visitors did, against the odds.
At the end of the first half, the match took a big turn; Willem II’s goalkeeper received a red card. NAC turned things around after the break and emphasized occupying the flanks. By playing with one man less, Tilburg had a hard time with NAC’s deep balls behind the last line. This tactic led to three goals within fifteen minutes. With these goals, NAC cleverly turned the deficit into a 4-2 lead. Two of NAC’s goals were disallowed for offside, but an own goal by Willem II was the final blow, after which the match ended in a beautiful 5-2 victory.
NAC can look back positively on this derby between Breda and Tilburg, where NAC was the better team against both ten and eleven men. NAC O17 is currently unbeaten with twelve points in four matches at the top. Next Saturday, the Breda team will play an away match against FC Eindhoven in the Jan Louwers Stadium.
