Ambassador Nabila Makram, the former Minister of State for Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, said that mental illness may lead to suicide attempt, and the community must support, relieve pain, and provide a surrounding environment that understands the suffering of the person with mental illness, and find a solution to his problems, referring to the role of the university in providing studies and research on the circumstances. Makram indicated – during the symposium organized by the Faculty of Law at Alexandria University, in the presence of the University President, Dr. Abdulaziz Qanswa, and held at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina under the title “Mental Health… Patient Courage and Society Culture” – to the need to spread awareness of mental health and support mental patients and their families, especially at the university level.
