Saturday around 7:15 p.m., an accident occurred on the N4 near Wierde. A driver in a Peugeot was traveling towards Namur when he saw a dashboard warning light come on. He pulled his vehicle on its side to inspect a wheel. When leaving his car, the driver forgot to put his handbrake. Drifting, the vehicle traveled nearly 150 meters crossing the expressway. Fortunately, there was no accident. The car first tore off an electrical terminal, which deprived a neighborhood of electricity, to end up in a light pole.
The damage is therefore only material but significant. A Namur police team took charge of the findings. Ores’ guard team descended on the spot while the car, out of service, was removed by repairman Jérôme Loriers de Courrière. SG
