N12 – Allowed to be published: Idan Shatvi who was kidnapped to Gaza

The IDF representatives informed the family of the late Idan Shtivi last night (between Monday and Monday) that he was murdered on October 7 by Hamas terrorists and that his body is being held in the territory of the Gaza Strip. The late Shatvi was at the Nova party, and was kidnapped from the nearby Tel Gama area. The decision to determine his death was based on intelligence information and was approved by a committee of experts of the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Israel Police. Eli, Idan’s father, said this morning: “12 months we waited for nothing . I received a message that he was murdered on the seventh of October.”

The 28-year-old Shtiv, an amateur photographer and student of sustainability at Reichman University, arrived with his friends at the party area when the terrorist attack began. They began to drive towards the center due to the rocket fire, but were met by terrorists who opened fire on them. Shteui’s friends were murdered that morning, but he himself was considered missing and it wasn’t until early January that his family was officially informed that he had been kidnapped. This morning they received the message that he was also murdered.

“I still can’t digest it,” said his father to Eli, in an interview with the special channel on News 12. “I will continue to fight, because we have another 100 abductees who are still there, to bring them back. This is our victory,” he clarified. “I was all hope that he was alive, the whole time I believed that he was alive,” he added. “I’m not giving up, not even on his body. I still can’t digest it, I see signs of mourning, the name of chairs. And I say it’s real. It’s crazy that I’m in this. We’ll accept everyone, it gives us a lot of strength who come to hug.”

“He was a man-loving type,” the father continued in his words. “When he moved to Tel Aviv, he saw a homeless man, so he gave him his reverse and slept with nothing. He wrote a post to Mokhret, saying that we in the Land of Israel should help each other.”

“The headquarter of the families of the abductees bows its head for the murder of Idan Shativ”, said this morning on behalf of the headquarters of the families for the return of the abductees. “We share in the family’s deep sorrow. Idan Shtiv loved nature, photography and animals. Idan was very attached to dogs and animals and was supposed to start his second year studying sustainability and governance at Reichman University. Idan always thought of others and sacrificed himself for others.”

The families’ headquarters added that “on 7.10 Idan arrived early in the morning at the Nova festival to document his friends who were playing and giving workshops, but he did not have time to enter. When the attack began, Idan helped a guy and a girl he met for the first time on going to the site to escape, a choice that eventually led to his abduction.” The headquarters mentioned that his body is still being held captive by Hamas.

In the statement of the IDF spokesman, it was emphasized that “the IDF operates in a wide variety of methods with the aim of gathering information about the abductions and the abductees in the Gaza Strip. The IDF and other security agencies will continue to accompany the families of the abductees as necessary.”

During the last year, his family and friends fought to promote Idan’s return from captivity. Shatui’s partner, Stav Levy, said in an interview about six months ago that “there are two ways to come back from such a situation that is too small to understand it. Either you are deep, deep down, or you come strong. And I think Idan is going to come back strong with a crazy inner desire. You all The good he did before will strengthen and I’m sure there will be something great here.”

“He will raise something big here, that everything that comes out of this thing will simply be good for the environment on all levels,” added the couple Stav. “I see how goodness is going to feed him and support him in this increasingly difficult and challenging time.” His sister Hila said in another interview that “my brother, Idan, always knew how to manipulate situations, even in scary events. It’s very difficult for us, it’s like a part of our body was taken away.”

The nurse said that Idan left the center early in the morning because he volunteered to take pictures at a party in Ra’i. “He arrived at the scene at five o’clock in the morning, an hour and a half before the massacre began. The first and last conversation with him was at 06:30. It was when his partner, Stav, called when the rockets started and asked him to come back. He said he was folding and coming back. That was the call The last one with him, since then he hasn’t answered us.” Hila added that the day after the party, Idan and Stav, whom he dated for a long time, were supposed to rent an apartment together – something that did not happen because of the terrorist attack.

According to Hila, her brother always thought of the other person before he thought of himself, “Even at the party, he volunteered to drive an acquaintance’s car that was unfit to drive because he was under the influence of alcohol. They both left with another girl. After the attack, the car they were driving in was found shot and in a bad condition, because he tried to escape from the terrorists. The terrorists were waiting on road 242 and planned to kill everyone who was in the car except him. After several days, when Idan’s body was not located, we were informed by the security system that – my brother had been kidnapped. In the hands of the terrorists to Gaza.”
