N-VA New Year’s reception: ‘The Vivaldi must go’, says Bart De Wever

This Saturday evening was the New Year’s reception of the N-VA in Mechelen. On this occasion, Bart De Wever attacked the Vivaldi and its balance sheet. According to the party chairman “we are the bottom of Europe in budgetary terms, while paying the highest labor tax burden in the world“.

The Vivaldi must go

For the N-VA it is “following De Croo, the deluge“. In an interview with the VRT, Bart de Wever believes that it is time to put an end to the Vivaldi. “The Vivaldi must go. We have the worst European report card while at the same time Belgians pay the highest taxes in the world. The two cannot go together. Deep reforms are needed in pensions, taxation and the labor market. We see nothing coming and we are wasting our time. But other policies like energy and migration are catastrophic. It’s not normal what’s happening and we’re waiting for changes.”

For the president of the N-VA, in 2024, the Flemings will have the choice between confederalism or impoverishment. He castigated the record of the federal government, a government he says, under the influence of the French-speaking left. According to him, Belgium is the red lantern at the budgetary level.

And still according to the president of the N-VA, “in 2024, the Flemings will have the choice between confederalism or impoverishment“.
