Patras is the last pre-election stop of Nikos Androulakis on the way to defend his position in the leadership of PASOK. Tonight, Nikos Androulakis will speak at 19.30 at the Royal, giving the final picture of what he wants to achieve as party president.
The Cretan politician, who in 2021 he achieved a great victory in the Prefecture of Achaiawill seek to show once more pas he calculates the “Papandreou land”. After all, as the president of the party he has visited the whole of Achaia several timessince maintains close contacts with both party and self-administrative agents of the place.
On the occasion of tonight’s pre-election speech, Mr. Androulakis spoke to “Peloponnisos” and recalled what the Movement achieved with him in the driver’s seat, while he did not fail to attack the New Democracy government.
“The last two and a half years we fought against harsh systems of power that predicted that PASOK would be crushed in the millstones of bipartisanship.
Remember that the correlation of forces was: ND 41%, SYRIZA 32%, PASOK 8% in 2019. After the European elections, PASOK is at 13%, SYRIZA at 15% and ND at 28%.
We achieved great victories in self-governmentwe are the second party in the entire Region together with Thessaloniki and now we have our own color on the political map. We laid the solid foundation for for PASOK to become an autonomous leading polewith momentum and a realistic perspective to claim the responsibility of governing the country from the New Democracy” initially emphasized Nikos Androulakis and continued:
«The government is on retreat and thanks to our own opposition presence, which highlighted its failures and oversights.
The cost of living rose rapidly and welfare state services were systematically discredited. How can Mr. Mitsotakis trumpet that he is a successful prime ministerwhen the Greek people have the second worst purchasing power in Europe and are walls erected for the underprivileged, the middle class, and the creative forces of labor and production? The not centralized power modeldubbed a “staff state” turned out to be one mechanism of power for power with the client state to be the protagonist».
In closing, the PASOK president and re-candidate addressed a call to participate in the elections: “In this environment, Greek society is looking for solutions and is turning its attention to PASOK. Conditions are now better not because of circumstance, but because of the strategy of seriousness, reliability and hard work that we followed. Athis is the way of our own victory.
That’s why I call on the people of PASOK to once again take my candidacy into their hands and let’s all prove together that the Democratic Party is back in full force and will become the next progressive government in the country. The hard times are behind us and the best are ahead.”
