During the ID@Xbox Showcase, the developers of Mythorcea cooperative roguelite game inspired by 80s cartoons such as Masters of the Universe et She-ra, the princess of power, released a 13-minute gameplay video. In this heroic fantasy universe, you will have the choice to embody four characters with their own weapons and abilities, including Victoria (knight), Rico (bandit), Maggie (mage) and Hawkins (hunter), whose mission is to explore the different procedurally generated dungeons to get better loot and defeat the tyrannical vampire lord Deadalus.
By now, you have known that it is absolutely not our style to criticize the gameplay of our comrades. In addition to the use of the joystick (admittedly it’s Xbox but that’s not a reason) which will not have escaped your notice, you will also be able to notice the absence of friendly fire for the mage who would have already burned his whole team, the repeated death of certain characters or the acting out of madness with sometimes strident cries/laughs. But we still note that moment unique when describing the abilities of any of the characters.
When watching the video, the cartoon atmosphere of the 80s is very well transcribed and the feeling of the weapons/spells seems correct. Dungeon enemies and traps seem to deal quite a bit of damage if you don’t watch where you step. The presence of a stamina bar will require you to perform your actions thoughtfully, otherwise you will be exhausted and vulnerable to enemies. Roguelite aspect obliges, you will be able to obtain perks randomly with each successful room and buy new equipment with your acquired loot.
