The mystery began to dissipate on Tuesday around the discovery of seven bodies, including those of two missing teenage girls and that of a man convicted of rape, near a house in the American state of Oklahoma.
The circumstances of the tragedy remain unclear, but the two young girls were wanted by the authorities, who thought they were with Jesse McFadden, 39, convicted of rape in 2003.
In another case, he was also accused of having possessed images of child pornography and of having attempted to obtain a sexual relationship with a minor. For these facts, he was due to appear in court on Monday, but never showed up, according to media reports.
The bodies discovered in Henryetta, a small town in Oklahoma, have not yet been formally identified. But authorities believe the bodies of Jesse McFadden and the two missing teenage girls, aged 14 and 16, are among them.
“We think we found everything we were looking for this morning“Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice said Monday at a press conference, referring to a “tragedy”.
A woman, Janette Mayo, claimed on Facebook on Tuesday that her daughter and three grandchildren were also among the victims, in addition to the two teenage girls.
Her daughter was married to Jesse McFadden, a “monster”, according to Ms Mayo. “My daughter loved her children and yes, she married the man who killed them, but she was fooled by his charm“, she wrote.
