Despite concerns from family and friends, the disappearance of a singer-songwriter, behind one of Katy Perry’s hit songs, was reportedly only reported to authorities following six weeks, Beverly Police say Hills Monday.

“The timing is particularly crucial given the date her disappearance was reported versus when she was reported to the police,” the police force reportedly said in a statement on Monday, according to The Independent.

Swedish musician Camela Leierth-Segura, 48, who allegedly co-wrote Katy Perry’s song ‘Walking on Air’, has not given any signs of life since leaving her home on June 29, according to would have indicated his relatives.

To add to the mystery, she is said to have disappeared with her 19-year-old cat named Morris. His vehicle was also not found.

“My worst fear is that someone will hold her and hurt her. If she was going for a drive to clear her head, I understand. But it’s been seven weeks. And no one has heard from her. No one goes on a seven-week trip,” one of his close friends, Cecilia Foss, told The Independent.

It was not until August 8 that his disappearance was finally reported to the Beverly Hills police, the police force said in a press release, confirming that a missing person investigation would indeed be underway.

In parallel, a crowdfunding campaign would have been set up by the sister of the musician in order to hire private detectives to try to find her or to offer a reward to those who would help to locate her.
