Three American tourists have been found dead in mysterious circumstances at a luxury hotel in the Bahamas, local authorities said on Friday.

“I have unfortunately been informed of the deaths of three American visitors, two men and a woman, at a hotel in Exuma,” the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, Chester Cooper, said in a statement.
“The police are investigating, and the cause of death is unknown” but “no foul play is suspected,” he added.
A fourth person, an American woman, was airlifted to a hospital, the official added, without giving further details.
The facts happened at Sandals Emerald Bay, a luxury hotel located on the beach on the island of Great Exuma.
“A health emergency was initially reported and, in accordance with our protocols, we immediately alerted healthcare professionals and local authorities,” commented Sandals Resorts, declining to give further details “out of respect for the privacy of our guests. “.
On Friday, shortly following 9 a.m., police were informed that a man had been found “unconscious” in the hotel, the police said.
