Belgians can now submit a pension application directly online via the federal portal mypension.be, the Minister of Pensions and Social Integration, Karine Lalieux, announced on Wednesday.
The mypension.be site allows everyone to follow their file from A to Z: check their career, find out their theoretical retirement date and its amount, consult their supplementary pension, etc. Since 2012, Belgians have had the possibility of submitting a pension application online, but this had to be done through several websites. Thanks to the integration of the request into mypension.be, the procedure becomes less tedious and can now be done quickly and easily in five consecutive steps.
“This is a big step forward for the citizen, we have further improved mypension.be,” summarized Sarah Scaillet, general administrator at the Federal Pensions Service, during a press conference.

“Thanks to the new functionality for submitting a pension application, citizens will benefit from support throughout the process. The user-friendliness of the application and its accessibility were at the heart of the project. This is obviously essential because the future pensioner finds himself confronted with a new world which is completely unknown to him. Mypension.be therefore constitutes in this context an essential tool, a compass to help citizens take this step with complete peace of mind,” said Minister Lalieux.
