Egyptian actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan appeared in a video clip in which he mocked an Israeli channel that called for a boycott of his work, and responded by saying, “My name in the next series is Abu Ubaida,” in reference to the official spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Ramadan said in a video clip he posted on social media platforms, “The Israeli Channel 10 calls on the Israeli people to boycott my artistic works because I made a video urging Arabs to unite and defend our brothers, women, children, and blood in Gaza.”

He added, “And I respond to them and say to them: This is the least duty I do toward my brothers, and the second duty I will do is for you, Israeli Channel 10. The name of my character in the next series, God willing, will be Abu Ubaida.”

A few days ago, Ramadan appeared in a video clip broadcast on social media platforms, in which he expressed his anger at the current events and offered his condolences to the families of the martyrs in Gaza.

He also said that he received a huge number of messages from followers asking him to interact with the current conditions in the Gaza Strip, following the events of the “Al-Aqsa Flood,” so that the voice might reach abroad, and he asked, “To whom will our voice reach?” He continued, “Our voice must reach our country. We have armies, weapons, tanks, and planes. We leave them until they rust, then we buy others (…) When will we use our weapons?”

The Egyptian actor became angry at the “cowardice and unmanliness” – as he described it – when she wrote letters in foreign languages asking to defend an Arab people.

Addressing his followers, he asked, “Where is your country? Where is your army? Your voice must reach your government… Tell your government: Take out the weapons and fight.”

At that time, Ramadan’s appearance received attention from the Israeli media, as the Arab affairs editor at the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, Roi Kayes, wrote in a post on the “X” platform, saying, “The great Egyptian singer, Mohamed Ramadan, filmed a frightening and emotional video following the war on Gaza.”

Ramadan’s appearance came following the historic speech of the spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, “Abu Ubaida,” yesterday, Saturday, which topped the Arab communication platforms, because of the very strong implications it carried for the occupation, and the great concern for the people of Gaza and Palestine and those in solidarity with the cause from all over the world.

Abu Ubaida addressed the people of Gaza, praising their steadfastness in the face of Israeli aggression, while the occupation received its share of a speech from the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, threatening defeat in the ground battle it seeks.
