“My mission as a singer is finished”

The artist from Salta Kike Teruel announced today his departure from the emblematic musical group Los Nocheros, a few days following its presentation at the Cosquín National Folklore Festival. This will put an end to a bond that spanned regarding 37 years.

It’s a nice moment for me because it’s a personal decision. I tell you this to eliminate speculation. I’m fine and I feel good regarding the decision I made. I’m leaving because I’m fine. It is rare to hear it like this, but I am in an excellent relationship with the boys, ”he said from an Instagram live, which he had announced hours before along with the confirmation of his departure.

Teruel explained that he needed to share the details with fans to “eliminate speculation” and made it clear that he will not only leave the group but also finish his “mission as a professional singer”: “I got Los Nocheros and my voice is going to stay there.”.

“I am not going to continue as a soloist. I’m not going to continue singing, I’m not going to do a parallel career at all. What I am going to do? I don’t know, but I felt that it was the moment: I was out of ideas for the group and I wanted to leave for a while. It was like playing on a team and giving passes instead of going up front,” he said when answering questions from fans.

The singer, who this Wednesday will take the stage of the National Folklore Festival in Cosquín as a member of the group, added: “I believe that my mission to sing is already over. If I come up with a song I’ll pass it on to the boys. My life will go on; it will not be the same. I am leaving so that it is the same or better ”.

“My life with Los Nocheros was wonderful but we all want to live better and we make decisions to be better and this is mine. And it’s not because I’m wrong with the group, but because I want to take off my night chip and put on another. It is good to clarify that I am not going to be a soloist; When the boys want, they invite me to sing”, he added.

After confirming his presence at the festivals and shows that the group has scheduled for this summer, he left the door ajar for an official farewell in Buenos Aires: “Maybe yes, I would like to. It has to be discussed with the boys, that everything flows, but of course I would love it, ”he said.

Unlike his departure in 2014, when he had to take “a sabbatical year” due to “health problems”, sentenced that this time there will be no returnand clarified that this last decision had already been communicated three months ago to his colleagues Rubén Ehizaguirre, Mario Teruel and Álvaro Teruel.

“If someone is going to replace me? I have no idea what the boys are going to do. It is their decision, which they should be meditating on to see how they continue, because this decision is not from yesterday. youThere is also no speculation regarding whether I will return; there is nothing like that, human beings are so structured that we believe that things have to be right or wrong or that there is something else to dor,” he said.

Giving some clues regarding his future away from the music industry, he explained that he will continue to be active from his Fausto Foundation (FUNDAFA), which has “beautiful projects” for Salta and the country: “I hope to discover a new mission in my life, be it helping”, he narrowed.

“I love to sing, but I am not going to do it as a professional career because this is very demanding and you have to be prepared and attentive to many situations that singing requires today. Also, I know my vocal limitations very well: my voice was made for Los Nocheros.

Until now, the group has not yet set a public position on the issuealthough he shared on social networks the announcement regarding the transmission that this Sunday starred the future former member.
