”I work at a gym with a lot of people, so everyone learned pretty quickly not to say ‘Hey, Siri’ when they greet me, otherwise there would be a lot of beeping. It was boring but manageable. Now people can’t even pronounce my first name,” she explains to The Sun. “My boyfriend installed the new update the other day and noticed that it was triggering his phone every time he talked to me. I’m completely furious. […] I’m sure Apple could have chosen something else instead. There are a lot of people named Siri and their lives have become unbearable because of it.”
Siri is therefore no longer called Siri today. It’s “Siz”, who welcomes and trains customers. She had to make this big decision, despite herself. “My colleagues had to sit down and think about an alternative because people’s phones kept ringing in the room,” she says.
