The disbursement of the first loans of the housing program “My Home” of the Public Employment Service (DYPA), begins with the signature of the Minister of Labor and Social Security, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis.
The first loans concern the purchase of first homes by young people, after the approval of the loans by the respective banks, as well as the successful legal and technical inspection of the properties.
Specifically, from the start of applications on April 3, 2023 until today:
A total of 36,544 applications were submitted, of which 25,573 have already been evaluated, i.e. 7 out of 10 (70%).
Of the 25,573 applications assessed, 17,606 received pre-approval, i.e. almost 7 out of 10 (69%), while the rest were rejected as they did not meet the requirements.
Of the 17,066 pre-approvals, 4,706 loans have already been approved, i.e. more than 1 in 4 (28%), as a property has been found and the legal and technical inspection has begun, with an average approval amount of approximately 104,896 euros.
62% of approved loans concern the purchase of a first home by couples, while 87% concern beneficiaries with an annual income of up to 24,000 euros.
39% of the approved loans concern the purchase of a first home in Attica and 22% in Central Macedonia, while 7% concern the Region of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace and 6% concern Western Greece and Thessaly respectively.
The Minister of Labor and Social Security, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, stated: “I am happy and proud that my first signature as Minister of Labor and Social Security is the first disbursement of money for the “My Home” program a program that I handled as Minister of Development and Investments on behalf of the Hellenic Development Bank and which today, through the Hellenic Development Bank and DYPA, we are making the first disbursement to the beneficiaries”.
For his part, the governor of DYPA, Mr. Spyros Protopsaltis, underlined: “The restart of the housing policy, after a decade of inactivity, is bringing the first results, as new couples and young people acquire their first home, through the program of DYPA. The response is very great and this proves the need that “My Home” comes to cover.
DYPA will continue to support young people with new actions in all areas of its competence and to rapidly implement the government’s policies for the housing protection of the workforce.” Through the “My Home” program, young people or young couples, aged 25-39, can acquire a home with a monthly installment significantly lower than that corresponding to mortgage loans on the market, as 75% of the capital is granted interest-free by the DYPA, while, for those with three children and those with many children and those who acquire this status, the loan is interest-free in its entirety.
