Lebanese actress Diamane Abu Abboud: My experience in the movie Hassan Al-Masry was special
Lebanese actress Diamane Abu Abboud went through a new cinematic experience in Egypt through the movie “Hassan Al-Masry” with actors Ahmed Hatem, Murad Makram, and Feryal Youssef. Her performance attracted great attention, and many expected that she would have many cinematic stations in Egypt during the coming period.
In an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed during the special screening of the movie “Hassan Al-Masry” in one of the cinemas in Cairo, Abu Abboud spoke regarding her opinion regarding her Egyptian experience and her future projects.
The Lebanese actress pointed out that her participation in “Hassan Al-Masry” was “distinctive and beautiful in all its details,” noting that the story of the work attracted her because it contained “purposeful messages and poignant humanitarian situations.” She also explained that working with producer Gaby Khoury and director Samir Habashi, who was her professor at university, helped her perform her role in the best possible way.
In the film, Abu Abboud plays the character of Joelle, who owns a security company and forms a friendship with Hassan Al-Masry, who moves to live with her in Lebanon to help her work.
In response to a question regarding the possibility of appearing once more with her husband, singer Hani Adel, on screen, Abu Abboud pointed out that their participation together in the series “Siham Marika” was a special experience, and she hopes to repeat the matter in the future. The actress also indicated that she wrote a song for her husband’s band “Wast El Balad” a while ago in the Lebanese dialect, and it was released under the title “Ala Al Waad.”
The actress confirmed that she is not participating yet in any of the series expected to be shown during the Ramadan season in Egypt, indicating that she will be happy if she gets offers to perform certain roles.
Also, Abu Abboud indicated that she recently finished filming the movie “Cedar” in Lebanon with author Louay Khraish and director Mira Shuaib. She added that the work is a social drama that addresses the current situation in society.
The actress plays the role of the main character, Arza, in the film, who is forced by life conditions in Beirut to work hard to secure a living for her son, Kanan, and her sister, Laila.
