According to comprehensive land media reports, the girl’s parents saw that the child had repeatedly had a high fever, so they sprayed alcohol on a cotton pad, wiped it, and covered their daughter’s body for a whole day. The girl was rushed to the hospital by her parents due to vomiting, malaise, and general weakness. However, the girl was confirmed to have fallen into a coma shortly following admission and was rushed to the intensive care unit.

Fortunately, the girl woke up following 2 days of emergency treatment. She is currently receiving rehabilitation treatment from the Department of Neurology, and there is no other serious problem except for a slightly slow speech speed. The girl’s parents said that they just followed the method passed down from the previous generation to reduce their child’s fever, and they didn’t know it would be so serious.
The doctor pointed out that following the non-volatile alcohol was absorbed by the girl’s skin, she had symptoms of acute poisoning, which might lead to respiratory failure or even death in severe cases. At the same time, parents are urged to cover sweat (to prevent the body from heating), scraping, and drug enemas are unreliable folk remedies, and they must seek medical treatment.
