SKT showcases innovative AI technology at MWC24
SK Telecom(CEO and President Yoo Young-sang) will introduce future technologies based on AI innovation, including various communication services, network infrastructure, and real-life areas, at ‘MWC 2024 (Mobile World Congress 2024)’, which will open in Barcelona, Spain on February 26th.
In particular, it plans to expand SKT’s AI landscape to the global stage through hyper-collaboration with big tech companies, including the Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA), an alliance between the world’s telecommunication companies. Specific future plans are also expected to be discussed at MWC in relation to the ‘Global Telco AI Alliance (GTAA)’, which was officially launched in July of last year.
This year’s MWC theme is ‘Future First’. Prioritizing the realization of future and present potential, over 2,400 companies from over 200 countries will be deploying various new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), 6G, IoT, and robots.
SKT, which is accelerating its transformation into a ‘global AI company’, will set up a large exhibition hall measuring 992㎡ (approximately 300 pyeong) in the center of Hall 3 of ‘Fira Gran Via’, the core exhibition hall of this MWC 24. Telco-centered AI technology will be introduced under the theme of ‘AI that will be the beginning of a new change and an inflection point.’
The key keyword of the entire exhibition is ‘Telco LLM (Large Language Model)’. By developing an LLM specialized for the telecommunications business and applying it to various fields, the utility for operators and customers is maximized.
SKT plans to introduce the following three application cases based on Telco LLM.
1) Virtual agent with chatbot implemented,
2)AI-based spam/smishing filtering system,
3)AI Call Center (AICC)
In addition, by using Telco LLM, plans will be presented to strengthen the functions of the existing ▲AI-based indoor and outdoor floating population data analysis system ‘Litmus Plus’ ▲’AI Quantum Camera’, which is applied to various fields such as robotics, security, and medical care.
The technologies built based on telco-specific LLM are expected to become an example of AI innovation in telecommunications.
Covers everything from ‘Telco LLM’ technology to AI in real life such as AI DC, UAM, and Excalibur.
Various AI technologies used in everyday life, including media and medicine, will also be showcased. The SKT exhibition hall will feature pet AI diagnostic assistance service ‘X Caliber’, media processing and content quality improvement platform ‘AI Media Studio’, and bio microscope using vision AI ‘Intelligence Vision’. do.
In addition, AI data center (DC) technology including next-generation thermal management liquid immersion cooling, various AI-based network infrastructure technologies, and life-sized UAM (Urban Air Transportation) that can be experienced virtually are expected to attract the attention of visitors.
SKT will also set up a separate space to exhibit 15 domestic innovative startups and ongoing ESG projects. Participating companies will present ESG promotion plans to solve social problems at the startup exhibition ‘4YFN (4 Years From Now)’ located in Hall 8.1 of Fira Gran Via.
