Until then expected for the next Unpacked event, Samsung decided to make its smart ring official at MWC 2024. The company confirmed the announcement of the Galaxy Ring this Sunday (25), with a presentation scheduled for Monday (26).
The Korean highlighted that the accessory arrives as a new approach to health, in order to simplify daily well-being. The ring will be connected to Samsung Health to provide the user’s information on the platform.
There are still no details regarding the Galaxy Ring, the tendency is for it to be a wearable to measure your fitness, using specialized sensors, in a device that is more comfortable to use.
The smart ring was expected to come in four sizes, but a later rumor indicated up to 13 different dimensions. Furthermore, it should be sold in three different finishes. All with monitoring of heartbeat, blood oxygenation and sleep monitoring, apart from physical activities.
The company also explained other resources in the health area. One of them is My Vitality Score, which seeks to deliver personalized insights based on sleep rates, physical activity and heart rate. The Booster Card tracks predefined goals to provide actionable insights.
Samsung also highlighted some new SmartThings features for a healthy lifestyle. These include controlling connected lights to automatically turn off and on, in order to optimize sleep, and setting alerts as reminders to take medication.
