MUVH reactivated the construction of 24 apartments in Capiatá and they will be completed this year

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Ministry of Urban Development, Housing and Habitat (MUVH) has reactivated the works that will make possible the completion of 24 apartments in the city of Capiatá, Central department. This construction had been stopped for years.

These are two blocks of 12 apartments in the affordable housing program. Each apartment has a dimension of 63 m2 and includes the following spaces: living room, dining room, kitchen, laundry room, two bedrooms (one en suite), two bathrooms and an extension balcony. The total amount invested is G. 2,289,999,997.

The reactivation of these works is part of the actions undertaken by the current administration to reduce the housing deficit in Paraguay, guaranteeing access to decent, safe and quality housing for Paraguayan families.

“These works will not only benefit more families, these works mean job creation for the community. It is a commitment we made with the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, to be able to deliver the largest number of homes to the families of the country,” said the Minister of MUVH, Juan Carlos Baruja.

“This is an important date because today we are continuing these works that mean 24 housing solutions that will benefit more residents of Capiate who long for a safe roof,” said the deputy for Central Néstor Castellanos.

For her part, the mayor of the city of Capiatá, Laura Gamarra, highlighted the following: “We are very pleased that this great step can be taken today. We continue to work closely with your administration, building together the Paraguay we dream of.”

The works will be carried out by engineer Carlos Vicente Gueyraud, selected within the framework of the National Public Tender LPN° 439.258 – “Completion of 2 blocks of 12 apartments in the city of Capiatá of the Economic Housing Program”. The works are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2024.

About the Program

The affordable housing program seeks to reduce the housing deficit of middle-income families by offering affordable housing at fixed rates for up to 20 years.

It is aimed at family units with incomes between 1.5 and 7 Current Minimum Wage Units (family income) that are made up of one of the following: single mother/father, divorced, widowed, married or cohabiting couples with or without children, supporting children or siblings.

Interested families can apply through a Public Application Call that is made upon completion of the construction of the homes.
