Mussungue Centrality buildings are safe

Speaking to the press, at the end of the visit to the 38-meter-deep ravine and to the buildings, he underlined that “there is no reason to evacuate the residents because the buildings are safe”.

“From the assessment we made, we concluded that there are no indications that endanger the two buildings, so we appeal to residents to remain calm”, he said.

In the two buildings, located in zone 1 of the centrality, 16 families live, a total of 80 people.

To assess the level of progression of some ravines and find solutions, the Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos Santos, has been in the city of Dundo since the early hours of this Thursday.

The Centrality of Mussungue, implanted southwest of the City of Dundo, has 419 buildings, five thousand and four apartments, 153 commercial spaces and is composed of T4 and T5 apartments.

Designed to house around 30,000 people, the project, whose first phase is subdivided into seven zones, six of which are for housing and one for social equipment, has a hospital with 95 beds, a nursery with 24 classrooms, and a school, for one thousand three hundred students.

The already completed apartments, housing more than 15,000 people, represent the first phase of the project, which provides for 20,000 dwellings, to be built in stages.
