Muslims have the right to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque, OIC joint resolution

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has adopted a joint resolution emphasizing that Muslims have the exclusive right to pray inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

In Doha, Qatar announced that it had begun mediation to ease tensions between Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The United Nations Security Council called for an emergency meeting this week to discuss the violence of Israeli forces against Palestinian worshipers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The meeting was called by the United Arab Emirates, the representative of the Arab League in the Security Council, and China, which is among its five permanent members.

The meeting was held after two days of violence by Israeli forces against worshipers inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque and a rocket attack in Israel on the occasion of the Jewish holiday of ‘Passover’.

The OIC resolution, adopted at an extraordinary session of its Executive Council in Jeddah, highlighted the enduring commitment of Muslims around the world to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and also reaffirmed the Arab and Islamic identity of occupied East Jerusalem. which is the capital of the State of Palestine.

The resolution condemned the repeated attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupation forces and terrorist settlers during Ramadan.

The resolution said that the tension continued on the night of 14 Ramadan when worshipers and worshipers, including women and children, were brutally attacked in its premises.

The resolution warned of serious consequences for continued violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation authorities, their personnel and terrorist settlers.

The resolution said that Israel is responsible for these dangerous and provocative actions that seek to incite chaos and sectarian conflict through planned brutal attacks and repeated deliberate provocations.
