Egyptian newspapers reported that a car driven by a young man of Gulf country ran over a girl in Cairo, which led to her death after arriving at the hospital. The mother said that the accused “passed over her body three times.”
وذكرت The seventh day newspaper A speeding car ran over a university student named Esraa while she was crossing the road under the Merghani Bridge in Heliopolis, as a result of which she was injured and taken to a nearby hospital, but she breathed her last there.
The mother told the newspaper Egyptian today Her daughter died of a severe brain haemorrhage.
She stated that the stray car was driven by a student at the Faculty of Medicine at Mansoura University (north of Cairo) holding the nationality of a Gulf country, noting that she had received a call from a colleague of hers who said: “An Arab woman banged (shocked) Isra as she was leaving the college door… A young man was driving at a crazy speed.” With him were 4 other young men (others), and then they ran away.”
When the mother arrived at the hospital, her daughter found “a lifeless body and blood was flowing from her body,” according to her statements to Al-Masry Al-Youm.
She said that the accused “passed over her body 3 times in a row” and then “run away” before “a passerby was able to stop his car, and kept him with the help of citizens until the security services came to the scene of the accident.”
The mother refused reconciliation attempts with the accused, telling the newspaper: “I used to receive threats and bargains, but I would never give up my daughter’s right and her blood… He ran over her and walked (driving the car) recklessly, how (how) do I forgive him?!… It must be an example to others because human souls are not (Not) a game.
Al-Masry Al-Youm quoted “responsible sources” as saying that “a group of young men were driving at a crazy speed in their car, and its driver ran over the girl and was arrested, and his country’s embassy was notified of the incident, and a legal representative attended with him the investigations.”
