English musical “Totto Chan – The little girl sitting by the window” will return to the audience of Hanoi capital on February 25-26 at Tuoi Tre Theater, Hanoi.

This is the second time the crew has performed this work, the first performance is in December 2022 with 4 successful performances. The child actors performed their best, sublimated in the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

Script “Totto Chan – The little girl sitting by the window” was adapted by the creative team HAY (Hanoi Arts for Youth) from the Japanese writer Tetsuko Kuroyanagi’s literary work of the same name.

In particular, the entire music and 13 songs in the play opera completely new creation. Play by 70 Hanoi students show. They are selected and trained for 5 months to perform on stage.

“Totto Chan – The Girl at the Window” is a successful work of writer Kuroyanagi Tetsuko, first published in 1981, has been translated into 33 languages ​​so far and is still loved by generations of readers, especially young readers.

The work is regarding Totto Chan’s childhood experiences at Tomoe Gakuen Elementary School (Tokyo, Japan). This is a unique school with creative and humanistic educational thinking that makes many children and parents passionate. It is to love children, let them freely develop their personalities, accompany them and live happily every day.

For the first time, this work was adapted into a musical. The creative and humane educational spirit of Tomoe’s principal Sosaku Kobayashi is expressed in English by the Hanoi students themselves, on the stage screen with Vietnamese subtitles.

HAY creative group was born in October 2017, members include many individuals working in different professions but with the same passion for art, always wanting to do the best for the young generation.

With the desire to bring human cultural heritage closer to Vietnamese audiences, the group has embarked on implementing children’s musical projects, adapted from many works. classic literature world.

The music and all creation are done by Vietnamese artists.

Up to now, HAY has introduced many different musical projects with nearly 40 performances at Tuoi Tre Theater, Hanoi. More than 1,000 Hanoi students have experienced the group’s projects.
