Lady Gaga surprisingly announces a new album – and it’s coming on Friday. “Harlequin” is a companion album to the film “Joker: Folie à Deux”. Attentive fans already had such an idea in advance.
The “little monsters,” as Lady Gaga calls her fans, have been waiting a long time for new music from their idol. Now things are happening faster than many people thought. The singer has surprisingly announced that she will be releasing a new album this Friday. Lady Gaga explained on Instagram that this is a “companion album” to her new film “Joker: Folie à Deux”, in which she plays Harley Quinn.
The album is called “Harlequin” and includes 13 tracks, with titles like “Smile”, “The Joker” and “Folie à Deux”. The songs “World on a String”, “Oh, When the Saints” and “That’s Life” also suggest some cover versions. On the album cover, Lady Gaga is seen standing under a shower head with a life jacket around her neck and wet, dyed red hair.
Fans already suspected new music
In the past few days, Gaga had shared several cryptic Instagram posts with lyrics and music that fans suspected were lyrics. The singer also teased a new project called “LG 6.5” this week with huge billboards in Los Angeles and New York – a reference to her announced upcoming album “LG7”, which is scheduled to be released in February 2025. It is their first album since “Chromatica” in April 2020.
“Harlequin” is one of two albums based on the new “Joker” film that will be released on Friday. The Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir releases “Joker: Folie à Deux (Score From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”). The film with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will be released in German cinemas on October 3rd.
