Launched in 1982 by the Ministry of Culture with the aim of “taking to the streets” the million French people who play an instrument, alone or in formation, the Music Festival of Saint-Pierre-Eglise (Manche) has become an unmissable cultural event.

Thus, each year, in Saint-Pierre, it is a public more and more people who come to meet the musicians who invade the town.

The Fête de la Musique is a cultural event to which we are very attached. Music is a vector of exchange, sharing and conviviality open to all. It’s a parenthesis that brings together all audiences, all generations in a festive atmosphere.

A nice story

Saint-Pierre-Eglise and music, it’s a beautiful story. Over the past few years, residents have taken over Halle 901, with very many concerts which are offered by associations and organizers of shows.

With regard to the attendance of this room, it is clear that the inhabitants of the Val de Saire love music. “The music groups are very numerous. The Fête de la musique allows these bands to play in good conditions and to meet the public,” underlines Daniel Denis.

Between headliners and strangers

Free and open to all musicians, amateurs and professionals, the Fête de la Musique is aimed at all audiences and highlights all musical genres. It’s the celebration of all music, without any genre hierarchy.

This year, Maryse Doucet, in charge of programming the Fête de la Musique as part of the local hub, brought together 23 groups which offer a wide range of musical styles.

Rock, variety, jazz, metal, funk, hip-hop and folk will resonate thanks to the 23 groups present at this edition. We welcome No-Za, which is in the process of becoming more professional. No-Za, pseudonym of Greg Saillard, is from Val de Saire. Today No-Za, with his two recorded and mixed albums, is a French rapper, singer and composer.

Since its creation, the vocation of the Fête de la Musique has been to celebrate all types of music, all genres, but also all levels and the vintage of this 2023 edition promises to be very rich and open.
