Museum of Economics will revitalize downtown Asunción, says MEF minister

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The head of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Carlos Fernández Valdovinos, said that the Museum of Economy, inaugurated this Thursday with the presence of President Santiago Peña and other authorities and special guests, being located in the Palacio Alegre, considered an architectural icon of Asunción with historical and aesthetic values, will help revitalize the center of Asunción.

This new space offers a vast collection of relevant economic information for the Paraguayan public, representing not only a significant contribution to culture, but also a valuable space for families and students, the Minister of Economy highlighted.

In addition to the exhibitions of economic history, the Museum houses a library of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, which is also open to the general public.

Fernández Valdovinos emphasized that at the Museum, visitors will have the opportunity to visit exhibitions that not only highlight the evolution of economic policies, but also offer an interactive view of how economic decisions impact the daily lives of all citizens. “Every corner of this Museum was designed to inspire knowledge and reflection,” he said.

This cultural space not only celebrates the institutions, policies and reforms that marked Paraguay’s path, but also recognizes the vital contribution of various sectors and actors that were part of the formation of the economy we enjoy today, said the minister.

The purpose of the Museum of Economics is to engage citizens in economic issues, fostering trust in the work of the MEF and promoting greater acceptance of its policies and regulations through a better understanding of its objectives.

The Museum will seek to convey a positive and hopeful message, using clear, direct and rational language, without technicalities or value judgments, to motivate reflection and analysis among visitors.
