The Murray State women’s golf team began play at the 26th annual Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii at Kapolei Golf Club.

In their first appearance in Hawaii, saw Eliza Mae Kho, Payton Carter and Emily Shimkus each card a 76 Monday in the opening round to get a share of 37th place in a field of 92 players.

The Racers posted a team 309 in the opening round.

For the first time in MSU women’s golf history, the team was paired with a collegiate team from Japan in Osaka Gakuin.

In Tuesday’s second round, the Racers will have Iowa, Utah Valley, Call-Northridge as playing partners.
