## Archyde Interview: russell Westbrook on Embracing his New Role

**(Intro music)**

**Host:** Welcome back to archyde Sports. today, we have a special guest joining us, none other than NBA veteran Russell Westbrook.Russ, thanks for taking the time to chat with us.

**Russell Westbrook:** Thanks for having me.

**Host:** Yours is a name synonymous with explosive power and starting line-ups. Now, you’re carving a new path coming off the bench. How has that transition been for a player known for his game-starting energy?

**Westbrook:** It’s definitely an adjustment, there’s no doubt whatsoever about it. Being a starter for so long, it’s a different rhythm. But as I’ve said before, I’m a team player.Whatever Coach Malone needs from me to help this team win, I’m going to do it to the best of my ability.

**Host:** You’ve always been a player known for your intensity. Is that something you’ve had to dial back at all coming off the bench?

**Westbrook:** My intensity never changes. I bring the same energy whether I’m starting or coming off the bench. Maybe there’s a little less warm-up time, but my mindset stays the same: I’m ready to impact the game from the moment I step on the court.

**Host:**

We saw you bring that fire in the win against the Kings, making some crucial plays in the fourth quarter. Does that kind of game, where you can come in and make a difference late, validate this new role?

**westbrook:** Yeah, I think it showed how valuable we can be in this system. When I’m out there with Jokic and Murray, we can create a lot of havoc on offense. It’s about finding the right energy and rhythm, and I think we’re starting to do that.

**(Quick cut to highlight of Westbrook’s play against the Kings)**

**Host:** Do you think this new chapter allows you to showcase a different aspect of your game?

**Westbrook:** Definitely. Coming off the bench, I get a chance to see the game unfold before I come in. I can analyse how the opponent is playing, what’s working for them, what’s not. That allows me to adjust my approach and make the right plays when I get into the game.

**Host:** what are your goals as a team moving forward?

**Westbrook:** Championship contention. That’s the ultimate goal. We have the talent here in Denver, and if we can continue to play as a team, anything is absolutely possible.

**Host:** Exciting times ahead for the Nuggets. Thanks for your time,Russell.

**Westbrook:** Appreciate it.
