Muriel Robin was once a pupil of Michel Bouquet at the conservatory. But a strong relationship was quickly created between the two people.
And when she was 25, Muriel Robin thought of stopping everything. But Michel Bouquet managed to find the right words to restore his taste for the stage. “He told me : ‘I am your theater father’, my birth certificate, my rebirth”, she tells the assembly present during the tribute.
Ten years later, Muriel Robin also encountered difficulties in her profession. “The job was killing me. But you scolded me. ‘You have no right, Muriel. You have a duty to serve’. The father had spoken. The landmark in the night. Mr. Bouquet, I tell you. You probably saved me from dying. More so, you gave me to live“, she addresses him with great emotion.
“Really, I wish future actors in the world to cross paths with a Mr. Bouquet, a master capable of lightening your step and filling your heart with a love of theater and your hands with the sharpest tools. I fear, however, that you left by failing to leave us the mold of your know-how and that of your elegance.”
Macron also present for the tribute
“He burned the boards and punctured the screen for 70 years”, said during the eulogy Emmanuel Macron, just re-elected president, and a few hours following having made his first public outing since Sunday in Cergy (Val-d’ Oise).
“He reigned over the theater as a sacred monster (…) of our literary monuments, he revealed unsuspected aspects, opened up new breaches”, underlined the Head of State who was accompanied for the ceremony by his wife. Bridget.
In the company of a dozen students from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art where Michel Bouquet was a teacher, he laid white flowers at the foot of a portrait of the actor.
