Two young American women want to visit Neuschwanstein Castle – and are attacked by a man, one of the women dies. In the process, the crime is traced using a video and the emergency call protocols.

On June 14, 2023, Kelsey C. repeatedly called out the name of her friend, who was lying next to her seriously injured and unresponsive. C. was lying injured on a tree trunk following a man pushed her down a steep slope near Neuschwanstein Castle. She fell around 50 meters, a tree lying across her body stopped her fall, which saved her life. She was able to call 911: “I was attacked by a mountaineer! I was with my girlfriend. He tried to strangle us!” The mountain rescue team was able to locate their signal and rescuers set off. Shortly followingwards, her friend Eva L. was also pushed down and ended up lying in the tree next to her. C. dialed the emergency number once more.
