Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was arrested Dec. 30 in Pennsylvania.

The legal document used to support obtaining a warrant and arresting the man, however, is under seal until he returns to Idaho, where he will be charged with four counts of first-degree murder.

This document, when released, “will really tell us a lot,” analyst and criminal attorney Joey Jackson tells CNN.

“He will tell us more regarding the probable causes of the crime, why he was arrested and the reasons given for keeping him in custody and prosecuting him,” he explains to CNN.

Authorities have yet to publicly confirm whether the suspect knew the victims.

They confirmed that Bryan Christopher Kohberger lives in the area and is a doctoral student in a criminal law program at Washington State University.

He was studying at the Pullman campus in Idaho, a city located 15 minutes by car from the city of Moscow where the four students were killed.

Investigators have yet to provide details regarding the suspect’s motives for stabbing the students.

The 28-year-old’s field of study, criminal law and criminology, is described as “very interesting” by a former FBI profiler interviewed by CNN.

“We have another case where offenders have studied in a field that more or less prepares them to commit a crime,” Mary Ellen O’Toole told CNN.

Nor has it been revealed why it took more than six weeks following the discovery of the bodies to make an arrest.

Authorities have not confirmed to the media when Bryan Christopher Kohberger first became of interest to police and why.

The suspect had been visiting his parents in Pennsylvania for the holidays since regarding December 17.

A white Hyundai Elantra wanted by authorities in connection with the murders was found at the home of Bryan Christopher Kohberger’s parents, CNN reports.

A source familiar with the matter told CNN that an FBI surveillance team from Philadelphia was following the suspect for four days in the area where he was arrested.
