Villa Latina murder, Armando Tortolani – the 42-year-old stabbed in the street last May during an argument with a fellow villager – bled to death. The stab wound he received in the upper part of the chest was fatal for him, causing an internal wound with massive blood leakage. This was clarified by the medical examiner Gabriele Margiotta appointed by the Cassino prosecutor’s office to carry out the autopsy and identify the causes of death. Dr. Margiotta’s report has been deposited in the file of the public prosecutor, Flavio Ricci, who will now have to conclude the investigations and decide the fate of the alleged perpetrator of the crime, Luca Agostino, 41 year old from Villa Latina, in prison since May 20th for voluntary homicide.
THE RESCUE
The public prosecutor’s consultant himself specified in his report the full suitability of the rescue maneuvers adopted by the medical personnel of the Ares 118 of Atina who intervened on the afternoon of Sunday 20 May around 6.30 pm near the victim’s home, in via Pacitti in Villa Latina, where the violent quarrel between the two over old issues had been reported. The consultant, in particular, analyzed and contextualised, to the phases of the frenetic emergency, the timing of departure of the emergency vehicle (6.37 pm), arrival at the crime scene (6.47 pm) and time of access to the emergency room of the Santissima hospital Trinità di Sora (7.25pm); the treatments received by Tortolani were also evaluated, not finding any findings of a criminal nature for the professionals involved. Therefore, for the public prosecutor’s consultant, the death of “Armandino” – as he was affectionately called by his friends – was caused solely by the wound to the chest.
THE DEFENSE
But the cause of death could be a point on which there will be debate. The defense of Luca Agostino, represented by the lawyers Mariano Giuliano and Beniamino Di Bona, entrusted, already in the first phase of the investigation, its medical-legal consultant, Dr. Giuseppe Delli Colli who drew up his own conclusion which will be discussed in the continuation of the procedure. The crime, as mentioned, dates back to the afternoon of May 20th, when the 41-year-old reached the victim near his home to clarify some aspects related to old issues and during the argument he stabbed him twice in the chest, not far from the area. cardiac. Emergency services are activated, but Tortolani dies within an hour before entering the red room of the emergency room. The Carabinieri of Cassino and Atina arrested Luca Agostino in flagrante delicto and seized a 21.5 centimeter knife, with a 10 centimeter blade still soaked in blood.
