Terrible find in holiday paradise: the bodies of two Germans were discovered on Fuerteventura. The police announced the first details.

Investigations following the discovery of two German tourists in Fuerteventura: The bodies of a woman and a man were discovered in a hotel room on the Canary Island on Thursday. According to Spanish media, the police have now made initial statements. The investigators rule out neither a crime nor an extended suicide. An autopsy result is still pending.

According to media reports, the man and woman are said to have been married and around 45 years old. They spent their holidays at the Club Aldiana resort in the town of Pájara. It is not yet known which state the couple comes from and how long they stayed in Fuerteventura.

Was it a murder?

According to the local news medium “fuerteventurazeitung.de”, relatives are said to have called the hotel’s reception because they might not reach the couple by phone for two days. An employee then went into the room and discovered the dead.

According to the reports, the investigators are now trying to reconstruct the last days of the two and also evaluated surveillance recordings from the holiday resort.

The island magazine “cadenaser” reported, citing anonymous sources, that initial evidence pointed to a double murder. But that was not confirmed by the police. The German authorities are apparently informed and are helping the Guardia Civil to investigate the case.
