After the groundbreaking at the end of March this year, the next milestone will now follow at the end of September. The first customers will be connected to the network by the Austrian Fiber Optic Infrastructure Company (öGIG). “We are really very satisfied with how the project has progressed so far, not least because of the good cooperation with the contracted construction company Grünberger,” says Julia Martl, construction manager at öGIG. In total, around 35 kilometers of fiber optic cable will be laid in the community as part of the construction project. This means that around 900 households will be supplied with the future-proof technology by the end of 2024. The öGIG network is open to all internet operators. Customers can choose the package that best suits their individual requirements from more than 20 providers.
