Muñoz earns 15th save with Mariners

Brooks Lee and Carlos Correa hit back-to-back homers, while Ryan Jeffers drove in the go-ahead run as the Minnesota Twins split a doubleheader to beat the Chicago White Sox 3-2.

Jeffers drove in Byron Buxton in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and give Minnesota the lead for good. The Twins have won 9 of 10 this season against their AL Central rivals.

Martin Maldonado homered for Chicago, which won the opener 3-1 to snap a three-game losing streak. The Twins erased a two-run deficit in the sixth inning when Lee homered off Drew Thorpe, five pitches before Correa reached his 12th hitting game with a shot that sent the ball into the right-field seats.

BRYCE MILLER pitched six innings to continue dominating National League teams, Dominican Julio Rodríguez contributed a spectacular defensive play, and the Seattle Mariners beat the San Diego Padres 2-0.

Another Dominican, Jorge Polanco, scored two runs that helped the Mariners, leaders of the American League West, sweep the two-game series and hand the Padres their fourth straight loss.

Miller (7-7) is 4-1 with a 1.98 ERA in six starts against NL opponents. The right-hander has pitched at least six scoreless innings for the fourth time this season.

Rodriguez struck out four times a day after hitting four hits — including a homer — in an 8-2 win. The dynamic center fielder provided the defensive play of the game in the second inning, when he retired Donovan Solano at the plate on Ha-Seong Kim’s flyout.
