A film masterfully given by the excellent José Luis Cuerda, which is an important example of contemporary Spanish Cinema, was enjoyed on the evening of Tuesday, July 23 by dozens of friends of the big screen who were in the outdoor area of the new City Hall of Patras.
“Butterfly’s Tongue” was screened as part of the Elementary Motion Picture section and told the story of Moncho, an eight-year-old boy who in late ’36 goes to school beginning his term of learning and life, guided by his eccentric teacher .
However, in the summer of the same year – the beginning of the Spanish Civil War – the values and principles that his teacher has instilled in him will be overturned, as he will watch the strangulation of democracy by the Franco regime and will “suffer” a violent and traumatic coming of age. …
Starring the legendary Fernando Fernán Gómez, who has appeared in more than 200 films and won the award for best actor twice.
The film will be shown again on Thursday, July 25 at the Nursing Home and on Sunday, July 28 at Arachovitika. The screening is done in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute.
