The Educational Activities Park at the Municipal Plaza was on the evening of Thursday, August 1, the second stop in the series of screenings of the sensational film “Through the eyes of Dalva”, which take place as part of the Municipal Mobile Cinema section.
What audience with the breeze of the sea as “companion” watched a film with which Niko approaches a solid drama of coming of age and searching for identity, which she handles with sensitivity, bringing to the surface current psychological and social issues, through a case of child sexual abuse.
Emanuel Niko, in her daring debut in a feature film, brought to the fore with cruelty and at the same time with sensitivity, a “reversed” coming-of-age story, which is illuminated by the strong performances of the protagonists.
The protagonist is twelve-year-old Dalva who lives with her father, who is arrested by the police for chronic sexual abuse. She ends up in a special juvenile facility, stubbornly refusing to accept the charges against him…
