The local government leaders of Hiiumaa, Haapsalu, Lääne-Nigula and Vorms signed an appeal requesting the continuation of the Läänemaa correspondent office of the Estonian National Broadcasting Company (ERR).
The Estonian National Broadcasting Company (ERR) announced that from January 1, the work of the Läänemaa correspondent office will be suspended and the correspondent there, Juhan Hepner, will be made redundant. In the future, the region will be covered by correspondent points in Tallinn and Pärnu.
With the appeal, it is pointed out that Juhan Hepner has expertly and operatively mediated the news of Läänemaa and Hiiumaa for years. During this period of work, he has developed an awareness of the area, its people and events. This has ensured an objective and adequate regular overview of what is happening in various parts of Lääne County and in Hiiumaa in national news programs. Just this year, Juhan Hepner was named worthy of recognition as a cultural gem of Lääne County, which shows how much his activities are valued in the community.
Operative and objective reporting of news from different parts of Estonia, including and especially further from the capital, is a very important regional political activity. Estonian National Broadcasting must maintain the ability to respond to news events all over Estonia. Including Läänemaa and Hiiumaa, as it currently exists. In their appeal, the municipal leaders ask the Estonian National Broadcasting Council and the board to review the given decision and to continue the work of the Läänemaa correspondent point in the future.

What are the next steps in research regarding living donor liver transplants for colorectal liver metastases?
## A New Study Offers Hope for Liver Cancer Treatment
**Host:** Welcome back to the show. Today we’re discussing a new study from Henry Ford Health that offers exciting news for those battling colorectal liver metastases. Joining me is Dr. [Guest Name], a leading expert in liver transplant surgery. Dr. [Guest Name], thanks for being here.
**Guest:** It’s a pleasure to be here.
**Host:** This study, published on the Henry Ford Health Scholarly Commons website [[1](https://scholarlycommons.henryford.com/2024.html)], outlines a new approach to treating initially unresectable liver metastases from colorectal cancer. Can you tell us more about it?
**Guest:** Absolutely. This research focuses on patients with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver, making surgical removal initially impossible. Traditionally, these patients faced limited treatment options. However, this study investigates the potential of living donor liver transplants in these cases.
**Host:** Living donor liver transplants? How does that work?
**Guest:** Essentially, a healthy individual donates a portion of their liver to the patient. The donated liver section then grows along with the recipient’s remaining liver. This can give patients with initially unresectable tumors a chance at a cure.
**Host:** That’s fascinating! What kind of results did the study see?
**Guest:** The study found promising early successes. [Share specific findings from the study and highlight the positive outcomes].
**Host:** This sounds like a significant breakthrough. What are the next steps for this research?
**Guest:**
We’re excited to continue exploring this innovative approach. The next phase will involve larger clinical trials to further evaluate the long-term outcomes and safety of living donor liver transplantation in this patient population.
**Host:** Dr. [Guest Name], thank you so much for sharing this groundbreaking information with us today. This is certainly a ray of hope for many fighting colorectal cancer.
**Guest:** My pleasure.
