The authorities of the municipal government of Granada fired promisees who every year participate in the traditional pilgrimage to the National Sanctuary of Jesús del Rescate, located in the municipality of Popoyuapa, department of Rivas.
The mayoress of Granada, Rosario Caldera, together with the deputy mayor Fernando Rivas, delivered food packages, water, bread and the accompanying message from the good government, in the preservation of these traditions full of faith and love for God.
“Dear brothers who, year after year, for more than 130 years, have carried this tradition, we want to tell you that we will always be here supporting this tradition, that they are so beautiful. We hope they do well throughout the journey and on their return,” said Caldera.
65 carts from the communities of La Laguna, Capulín, in addition to those that join the route of the Nandaime – Granada highway, are part of this caravan of faith, which the people manifest in the pilgrimage, in which its protagonists fulfill promises for favors received from above.
“This is a devotion, it is a payment in favors received towards Jesús del Rescate,” said Mariano González, coordinator of promisers of La Laguna, who said that a few years ago he was diagnosed with diabetes and since then he has asked God to give him health. .
