The Munich Security Conference is considered the Mecca of the debate on global security policy. In 2023, in the middle of Russia’s war once morest Ukraine, the forum became a public pre-trial room. Four members of the UN Security Council were represented at high to highest ranks, as well as German Chancellor Scholz and President Selenskyj via video. Only Russia was not there, although the talks practically only revolved around one central question: what next for Moscow and Ukraine? Three things stood out.
