They do not recognize the state, believe in the German Reich and sometimes harbor fantasies of revolution: Reich citizens. On Saturday they demonstrated in Munich.
Several hundred supporters of the Reich Citizens’ scene gathered in Munich for a demonstration on Königsplatz. The police spoke of “a peak of almost 500 people”, some of whom took up positions in the great heat, waving flags.
The meeting’s motto was: “The great meeting of the federal states, homeland and world peace.” “Heimath” is an old spelling of homeland that is no longer correct. There were no riots, said a police spokesman. This also applied to a counter demonstration with several dozen people.
The Reich Citizens scene does not recognize the Federal Republic of Germany as a state, but assumes that the German Reich will continue to exist. Most recently, Reich Citizens of the “Reuss Group” caused a stir when serious plans for a coup became known and numerous members of the group were arrested and imprisoned.
