Mumbai Police swung into action to extradite Anmol Bishnoi – Life & Style

According to Indian media, after being tipped off by US authorities, Mumbai police have started extradition proceedings for Anmul Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Media reports say Anmol Bishnoi is linked to the shooting incident outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai. Anmol is involved in several high-profile cases which were allegedly framed at the behest of his elder brother.

Accused of firing at AP Dhillon’s house appeared in court

Last month, the Mumbai police sought permission from a special court to initiate the extradition process, informing the court of its intention to bring Inamul back to India to face charges. Especially in relation to the Salman Khan case.

Indian media reports have said that Anmol is also under investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), which recently placed a reward of Rs 1 million on him for his alleged involvement in various criminal activities. He reportedly lives in Canada and frequently travels to the US.

Anmol is also suspected to be involved in the killing of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique on October 12 in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

A Mumbai court recently denied bail to an accused in the Salman Khan shooting incident, noting that the act was allegedly committed with intent to kill at the instigation of Anmol. Both Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi hail from Fazilka, Punjab and are wanted in several cases.

**Interviewer:** Thank you for joining us, Dr. Sharma. With the Mumbai police initiating extradition ‍proceedings for Anmol Bishnoi following a tip-off⁤ from US authorities, what are your thoughts⁤ on‌ the⁤ implications⁢ this might have on organized crime in India?

**Dr. Neha‌ Sharma:** Thank you for‌ having ⁢me. The extradition of Anmol Bishnoi signifies a larger crackdown⁣ on organized crime networks that have‍ been⁣ operating ⁣both in ⁣India⁣ and‍ abroad. His ‍connections, particularly to high-profile incidents involving figures like Salman⁢ Khan, highlight not only the audacity ‌of these crime syndicates but also the complex⁤ challenges law enforcement faces in⁣ dismantling such operations.

**Interviewer:** ‍Considering he’s linked to several serious crimes, including significant figures like Baba ⁤Siddique, do you think this could push other gang members to flee abroad ⁤or cooperate with authorities?

**Dr. Neha Sharma:** It’s quite possible. The extradition process can create a ripple effect. On‍ one hand, it ⁤might intimidate‍ other criminals, knowing they can’t find safe haven even outside India. On ⁣the other hand, some may see it ⁢as an opportunity to negotiate with authorities for reduced sentences or protection in exchange for information about their networks.

**Interviewer:** With the reported investigations by the ⁢National Investigation Agency and ‍the substantial reward for Anmol’s capture, do you believe ⁣the Indian government⁢ is taking sufficient steps to tackle such organized crime?

**Dr. Neha Sharma:** The measures being taken indicate a heightened focus on‍ these issues, and the collaboration with international agencies is crucial. However, the success of‌ these⁢ initiatives will depend on sustained efforts and resources to address the underlying‍ factors that contribute to organized‌ crime, such as corruption and socio-economic disparities.

**Interviewer:** Given ⁣the ⁢current situation, what would ⁣your message be to the public ⁣regarding ⁢their perception of safety amidst these developments?

**Dr. Neha Sharma:** It’s essential for the public to stay vigilant‌ but not to panic. The police and government agencies ⁤are responding to threats actively. ⁣Engaging ⁤in community dialogues about safety, reporting⁤ suspicious activities, and supporting law ⁢enforcement initiatives can create a collective front against‌ organized crime.

**Interviewer:** how do you think this ‍case‍ will influence ⁢public opinion on celebrity involvement with such criminal elements?

**Dr. Neha Sharma:** It can lead to mixed‍ sentiments. While‌ some may arrive at a conclusion‌ that celebrities should be more cautious about their associations, others⁣ might view it as an isolated ‌incident. Ultimately, it will reignite discussions around the lifestyles and choices of public figures, and⁤ whether they inadvertently attract criminal elements.

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Dr. Sharma, for your insights.

What do you think about the government’s efforts to extradite Anmol Bishnoi in the wake of high-profile crimes associated with him? Do you believe it will genuinely impact organized crime, or is it merely a step towards addressing a much deeper ‍issue?
