Mumbai Pilot Dies by Suicide, Boyfriend Arrested for Abetment

Young Pilot Found Dead in Mumbai Apartment; Boyfriend Arrested

Tragedy struck Mumbai on Monday morning as a young Air India pilot was found lifeless in her rented apartment in the bustling Andheri district. Identified as Srishti Tuli, a 25-year-old from Gorakhpur, the pilot’s death has been ruled a suspected suicide. Adding another layer of complexity, Srishti’s boyfriend, 27-year-old Aditya Pandit, has been taken into custody in Delhi on charges of abetment of suicide.

Allegations of Abuse and Troubled Relationship

The police revealed that Srishti had been reportedly enduring both verbal abuse and struggles with mental health issues leading up to the tragedy. A revealing incident brought to light by investigators suggests the nature of the abuse Srishti faced. Sources say Aditya had publicly belittled Srishti for her dietary choices, criticizing her for eating non-vegetarian food in front of others. This incident, among others, sparked arguments between the couple, ultimately leading to Aditya leaving Srishti alone, midway through a disagreement.

A Desperate Late-Night Call

The events leading to Srishti’s death unfolded over Sunday evening and into the early hours of Monday. Upon returning from work Sunday, Srishti found herself in another heated argument with Aditya, who was at her apartment. Following the dispute, Aditya departed for Delhi at approximately 1 a.m. on Monday.

Hours later, a desperate call from Srishti to Aditya rang alarm bells. “I’m going to die by suicide,” she reportedly told him. This chilling declaration prompted Aditya to rush back to Mumbai.

Arriving at Srishti’s locked apartment, he was met with silence. Unable to gain entry, Aditya sought the help of a locksmith. When they finally broke into the apartment, they discovered Srishti unconscious.

Rushed to a nearby hospital, Srishti was tragically pronounced dead.

Family Alleges Abuse, Arrest Made

Srishti’s grieving family, devastated by the loss of their daughter, filed a formal complaint with the police, accusing Aditya of repeatedly abusing Srishti. Based on these allegations, Aditya was arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.

Presented before a court on Tuesday, Aditya was remanded to four days of police custody. As the investigation continues, a postmortem report has confirmed the cause of death as strangulation
