Mumbai: The selectors have reportedly chosen the 15-member Indian squad for the ODI Cricket World Cup. Malayalam player Sanju Samson is not included in the list given by the selection committee on Saturday night, according to the report released by ‘The Indian Express’. Wicket keeper K.L. Rahul was included in the team.

The selection committee chairman Ajit Agarkar, who arrived in Sri Lanka last night, met captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid and decided the final list. Yesterday’s India-Pak Asia Cup match was abandoned due to rain. This was followed by a meeting.

Apart from Sanju, among the players in Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup, Thilak Verma and Prasid Krishna are also out of the World Cup squad, according to the report. Sanju Samson was included as a back-up player in the Asia Cup.

Along with captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, wicket keeper Ishan Kishan also got into the batting line-up. Hardik Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur are the all-rounders. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav will lead the bowling line-up.

The BCCI should have given the final team list to the ICC before September 5. The selection committee meeting has been decided on September 4. The official announcement will be made following this meeting.
