“I was shocked when I didn’t see my name in the team for the Asian Games. But, management may have other things on their minds. Whatever their decision is, I just have to accept it. Happy to have Rituraj Gaekwad leading the Indian team. The Indian team has young players. They are sure to perform well. I am preparing to come back to cricket. That’s why I always try to stay fit.’ Dhawan said. Dhawan is currently training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
“I am really enjoying cricket training. I will respect whatever decision the team makes in terms of playing. I had not spoken to the selectors. But training at the National Cricket Academy will continue. Need to prepare for the next IPL season. It is hoped that he will be able to play in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare tournaments as well.- said Dhawan.
