In open beta since July 26, MultiVersus is a free-to-play game that involves in-game purchases. Most characters can be acquired with gold, but Warner Bros. still offers those who do not want to checkout to play with a free roster, which rotates every two weeks.
The studio has also recently made a point of clarifying things concerning the progression linked to each character.
